A Day Labourer

A Day Labourer

A day labourer is a person who does physical labour for others against money. He works outdoor in different fields, for example, he may work as an earth digger, a construction worker, a blacksmith, a carpenter, a goldsmith, a peasant, a sweeper, and many more.

He needs to be strong and stout enough for working hard. He gets up early in the morning and works from dawn to dusk. He eats his meals at a very low price near his working site. He works all day long and after heavy manual labour, he gets his wages at the end of the day. Then he goes to the market to buy food for his family and returns home to the slum.

A day labourer has no fixed work, so he has to find work to live his livelihood regularly. A day labourer has to suffer when he finds no work. Sometimes, he doesn’t get fair wages and is maltreated. Then he and his family have to starve. A day labourer has to work even in bad weather. In the rainy season, it is hard to find work for him but he has a great demand in the harvesting season.

A day labourer is necessary for the development of a country, especially in agricultural and constructional development. A society is not only developed by the official and technical works but also by the hard labours of the day labourers.

As a day labourer has great importance in society, he should not be looked down upon by anyone. The Government should also take proper steps to ensure the basic human rights for them and give them fixed works. Thus a day labourer can decently live his livelihood.

A day labourer is a person who does manual labour in various fields every day. He is quite known to all. He is to be healthy, strong and stout. He usually lives with his family in a slum.

He works hard only for his daily living. Generally, he has no land or property of his own. He renders his manual labour for others to earn money. He has to work hard in various fields or sectors. Most of the time, he is employed in agricultural and construction work.

Every day, he rises early in the morning and goes out for work. He has to work from dawn to dusk. He gets his wages at the end of the day. Then he goes to market, buys his daily necessaries and returns to his slum. He is always dependant on his employer. On some days, he earns more and then he and his family can eat well.

It makes him happy. However, it does not happen regularly as sometimes he does not find any work. Then, he and his family have to suffer much or even starve. He has to work hard even in bad weather. He does not know what relaxation is. Sorrows and sufferings are his daily companions.
